The Electoral Commission[1], in exercise of the powers conferred upon them by sections 17[2] and 26[3] of the Local Government Act 1992, hereby make the following Order:
Citation and commencement
1.
- (1) This Order may be cited as the Borough of West Devon (Electoral Changes) (Amendment) Order 2004.
(2) This Order shall come into force on the day after that on which it is made.
Amendment to the 1999 Order
2.
- (1) The Borough of West Devon (Electoral Changes) Order 1999[4] shall be amended as follows:
(2) The entry for the area of the borough ward of Milton Ford in column (2) of the Schedule shall be replaced by the words "The parishes of Bradstone, Coryton, Dunterton, Kelly, Lewtrenchard, Marystow and Milton Abbot".

EXPLANATORY NOTE
(This note is not part of the Order)
This Order amends the Borough of West Devon (Electoral Changes) Order 1999 to give full effect to recommendations by the Local Government Commission for England for electoral changes in the Borough of West Devon.
That Order was made by the Secretary of State. The functions of the Secretary of State under sections 13 to 15 and 17 of the Local Government Act 1992, so far as they relate to electoral changes, were transferred with modifications to the Electoral Commission by the Local Government Commission for England (Transfer of Functions) Order 2001 (S.I. 2001/3962) with effect from 1st April 2002.
