The Inspection of Youth Support Services in Wales Regulations 2004

  Made 9th March 2004 
  Coming into force 1st August 2004 

The National Assembly for Wales makes the following Regulations in exercise of the powers conferred on it by section 128(4)(b) and (c) of the Learning and Skills Act 2000[1].

Name, commencement, application and interpretation
     1.  - (1) These Regulations are called The Inspection of Youth Support Services in Wales Regulations 2004 and shall come into force on 1st August 2004.

    (2) These Regulations apply to Wales.

    (3) In these Regulations  - 

Action plan
     2.  - (1) A statement under section 128 of the 2000 Act ("an action plan") must be published within the period of 50 working days (whether or not there is a requirement that it be translated), from the date on which the report of the inspection concerned was published under arrangements made by the Chief Inspector.

    (2) The action plan must be published by making it available at the offices of the person who provided the inspected service, for inspection by members of the public at all reasonable times, and on any internet web-site of that person which is associated with the service.

    (3) A copy of the action plan must be sent free of charge to each of the following  - 

    (4) A copy of the action plan must also be sent (free of charge) to any member of the public who request a copy.

EXPLANATORY NOTE

(This note is not part of the Regulations)


These Regulations state the time-scale within which statements under section 128 of the Learning and Skills Act 2000 are to be published and who should be sent a copy.

A statement under section 128 is a statement of the action which is proposed by the party whose services have been inspected, in light of a report following an inspection of Her Majesty's Chief Inspector of Education and Training in Wales. The Chief Inspector may arrange for the publication of a report of an inspection having inspected the provision of youth support services within a local authority has been directed by the National Assembly to provide, secure or participate in.
